API Reg Thread 8 1/2" Tricone Drill Bit For Oil Drilling
Tricone Drill Bits
What is a Tricone Bit?
A tricone bit is a drill bit with a head that is divided into three main rotating cones, each with its own row of cutting teeth, that crush the rock face they are rolled over. Tricone Bits were developed in 1933 by the Sharp-Hughes Tool Company and offered a big advantage over the existing two cone Roller Bit offering improved durability and rate of penetration of the rock.
The Tricone Bit is the most versatile drill bit on the market. It is the go-to drill bit in most styles of drilling. Whether you are drilling a water well or an oil well, Roschen group limited has the Tricone Drill Bit for you.
The Advantages of Using a Tricone over Other Drill Bits:
1. There is a Tricone suitable for any rock formation
2. Tricone bit is versatile and can handle changing formations
3. Tricones are reasonably priced, long lasting and have an efficient drilling rate
Cost of a Tricone Bit:
The cost of a good drill bit varies from about 1-5% of the total cost, however, the drill bit will affect up to 75% of your total cost.
1. Reducing the number of times you trip
2. Increased rate of penetration when drilling means more holes faster
3. Straighter holes and longer bit life
4. Saves you time and money
Depending on your application, Roschen group limited can provide you with new, re-run or premium oil field quality Tricone bits. The difference between a premium oil field Tricone bit and non-premium oil well quality Tricone is that the roller cones have high end sealed bearings; extremely high quality tungsten carbide and diamond gauge protection throughout the drill bit as well as skirt tail hard facing and optimized hydraulics. These roller cone drill bits are designed to go to extreme depths in extreme conditions and in situations where they cannot fail.
Tricone Bit Sizes
When ordering a bit, the IADC bit classification system is a very useful tool and allows TDS to specify a bit that out performs your expectations. The IADC Code describes indicates whether the bit is steel tooth or button, what formations the bit is meant for, and the bearing type. These codes help you describe what type of tricone you are looking for. If you are not sure, give us a call and we will find the perfect tricine bit for your application.
The TCI Tricone Bit ranges in size from 3.875" (88.9mm) to 28" (711.2mm). The Mill Tooth Tricone Bit ranges in size from 5" (127mm to 32" (812.8mm)
