The new multifunctional NSU (N surface and underground) core barrel system from Roschen features interchangeable components and offers standard and pump-in applications in a single system.
The NSU system will not only offer greater flexibility, but also a more cost-efficient solution, greater safety and increased productivity. The system is user-friendly and designed for safer handling. There is no need for different coring tool systems as this multifunctional system is ideal for both surface and underground applications.

Thinner walls and tighter tolerances enable Roschen to offer a lighter weight core barrel, and when used with Roschen’s thin kerf bits, decreases the surface area for up to 30% faster penetration rates. These systems feature a number of unique innovations including ITIP valve for landing indication and integrated pump out for triple-tubes.
Roschen’s thin kerf coring systems offer many advantages for both surface and underground applications — the geologist can log a larger core sample from a similar sized hole and the driller is able to work under more ergonomic conditions. Features:
1. Wireline system which affected the rod and core barrel design and incorporated the use of a wireline overshot.
2. Triple-tube system which effected the core barrel and the bit design and allowed for a second split inner tube to be used so that an undisturbed sample of very broken core could be viewed in its original state.
3. Thin kerf or light weight systems which effected the design and dimensions of the entire drill string to allow for a larger core sample to be retrieved at increased depths or in similar sized hole.
